It's becoming rather boring seeing myself in the paper so often, but I do think this is a good picture of my feet!

Fame again, and my letter to the Journal in respose to E Cooper's Letter

This is a copy of a letter written in the Bridgnorth Journal. I wonder if it was in response to what was put in the paper the week before about the Monday Club raising money for my adventure.

I shall certainly reply.

The Age Concern Coffee Morning

I forgot they had told me they put it in the local paper. When I was reading it the other day my first thought was "Oh someone else is going on the trek too, and then it dawned on me that the Bridgnorth man was me!

Betty is the amazing lady on the left, a pensioner who, had she given me £5, would to her be a generous gift. However, she got 2 balls of wool and transformed them into £150 by knitting this outfit for the teddy bear and raffling it. Shirley is the lady on the right who runs the club.

Where would we be without those who make the tea and coffee and wash up? These people are the salt of the earth.
What a wonderful appetizing tray of swiss rolls and scones.

Everyone seemed to enjoy themselves and over £225 was raised, including the raffle which took my total to over £1700.
Well done all you generous people.

We are building a 32 bed extension at work, so I thought the workmen would appreciate some bacon and egg rolls for their breakfast and I made £14 for the Alzheimer's Society

We have just come back from a wonderful holiday in Northumberland where I spent a day walking in the Cheviot hills. Started off acsending up Hedgehope Hill, then I walked up onto the Pennine way path on the Cheviot. At he the sign post I turned South and made my way to Bloodybush, by the time I got there I was b....y knackered. Then I made my way down into Ingram valley where Sharon met me. I was two and a half hours late. I was able to text her so she was anticpating a late arrival but she was a little worried that I might have broken a leg! The Weather was simply superb and I walked in deep snow most of the time.

I now realise that I will have to do some training for my Himalayan Trip

Look at these lovely Scones I'll be baking at my Cookery demo at Bridgnorth Baptist Church at 7.30pm. We'll eat them all up afterwards accompanied by a cup of tea or coffee. I'm charging £5 per person and all proceeds will go to the Alzheimer's Society

Alan and I had a super walk on the Long Mynd on Friday. These pictures were taken at Pole Bank, the highest point. It was a cracking 5 hour walk and as you can see we were met with some nice arctic conditions

I thought I would put a picture of the Annapurnas on my blog just in case you were interested.
What do you think of them? Beautiful aren't they?
This is going to be a really exciting year.
I'm amazed at how generous people have been already.
Dementia is a desease that will affect 1 in 3 people over the age of 65 so it is something that will touch all of us and it is great to be doing something that will help people with Alzheimers and people who are there carers

I thought I might post these pictures on my blog to show you who my Mum and Dad are. My dad passed away last August and my Mum has Alzheimer's. I have booked up to go to the Himalayas in November raising money for the Alzheimer's Society and am amazed already how much money has come in.
